This project will get your students conversing in Spanish! In small groups students create a store and choose the items for sale, the prices, and the store hours. They also make a poster to display their store.
On shopping day, students set up their stores with their posters and items they bring in for sale. Two groups compete against each other at one time by sending one person from each group to sell their items. The shoppers are members of the groups not participating at that time. In Spanish the sellers get 3 minutes to try to sell their items to the buyers. At the end of 3 minutes, the sellers sit down, and new sellers are chosen. The buyers have to choose from which store they would buy and write about it in Spanish.
This project gets the students using the vocabulary and grammar you've been studying in a life-like situation, and it's fun! Feel free to change the grammar topics and point values to fit your needs.
