This screening is not an evaluation, which is why only the most commonly mis-articulated speech sounds are being screened. If a student performs poorly on this screener, it indicates a more in-depth speech sound evaluation will be necessary, which would include the full spectrum of speech sounds. Additionally, the phonology screener includes the phonological processes that I see most frequently with students with phonological disorders. If a student struggles on this screener, it will show you that it's time for an in-depth evaluation.
