Tic-Tac-Toe Game – Common Stem-Changing Verbs in Spanish
This game practices the following present tense stem-changing verbs:
empezar, pensar, dormir, poder, entender, almorzar, pedir, servir, repetir, preferir
My students enjoy playing this game in levels 1, 2 and 3. It serves as a good review and practice at any level.
It corresponds well with Realidades 2, ch 1a, but can be used with any curriculum at any time.
Each student has the answer key for their partner, so they are completely independent while playing and can also have confidence that they are coaching their partner to the correct answers.
Each gameboard page has two gameboards, if some teams finish earlier than others, they can play another round while waiting.
Here is how I play:
I. Students play this game 1 vs. 1
II. The game board goes between the two players – they decide who will play X and O
III. In order to win a space, each player must answer the question that corresponds with that space’s number.
IV. The first to win 5 in a row (horizontal, vertical or diagonal) wins the game!
