Everyone needs something that meets standards (cultural connections) that a non-Spanish-speaking sub can do! This packet explains four interesting and unusual festivals that are celebrated in different Spanish-speaking countries (Mexico, Bolivia, Ecuador, Spain). There are pictures and maps that show each festival. Included are 33 questions, a world map where students can find and label the places mentioned in the packet, and a Venn diagram where students can compare and contrast an unusual festival of the US with one of the festivals from the packet. The questions go in order and it's all self-explanatory, so it's smooth-sailing for your sub!
When I used this with my classes, I made a class set of the packets and then copies of the questions/map/Venn for everyone.
