Students can definitely relate to this Power Point as they create their own phrases based on emojis! Each slide has at least 4 emoji pictures, of people, animals, food, professions, etc. There are 8 questions total. Each emoji slide is followed by possible answers, color coded based on trigger verbs/que/subject change/subjunctive.
Students take the 1st two emojis and write/say/record the subject of the sentence followed by a trigger emotion verb (based on the sad/happy/mad emoji). They practice adding the word "que" and then finish the sentence with the subjunctive based on the remaining emojis.
There are multiple answers, leaving room for creativity! My students loved this activity. A follow up would be to have students create their own emoji sentences, either by drawing them, finding Google images, or texting each other & guessing each others sentences.
