About This System

This is a center management system based on students going to centers 5 days a week while the teacher meets with small groups during the same time period. This full 5 day rotation of centers is designed for 4 separate small groups to be seen each day. Students visit the teacher table, writing center and two other centers EACH day Monday - Friday. My groups are 12-15 min each so the entire center time is about 60 min. This system can be converted to a 4-day system for upper grades that may test on Fridays (I am including the student cards as 4 day system at the end of this file.)

My Monster Super Centers are monster themed and utilize graphics from Class Dojo. The graphics are free on their website if you wish to use them for additional purposes. What you are purchasing here is the structured system I have created.

This system includes:
•student card system for the students to know which center they go to each day on a weekly schedule
•folder labels
•center labels
•list of center ideas with descriptions
•activity/center resources (and blank templates)

This system has 10 total centers (included are Teacher Table and Writing Center).

Center Descriptions:
•Teacher Table: Teacher small group guided reading/activities

•Biblioteca/Mapa de Cuento: Students read from class library and complete story map

•Juego de iStation/Centro de Tecnologia: computer games, student completes iStation activities

•Escritura/Writing Center: Students observe a display set up by teacher and create a circle map and then write about it

•Silabas En Arco Iris/Rainbow Silabas: Students draw a card and write the word with different colored syllables then check their work by turning the card over

•Oraciones Mezcladas: students put sentence fragments in order and copy the corrected sentence onto paper

•Pared de Sonidos: using an old Jenga game, write word families on the blocks. Students will stack the blocks to make words that begin with the same sound and end with the same sound (four blocks high)

•Mapa de Circulo: Circle map of letters and syllables. Students will choose a letter (or syllable) and create a circle map of words and images that have that letter or syllable

•Cuatro Cuadros/Four Corners: Students will select a word from the list provided and complete the four corners sheet for each word.

•Juego de Verbos: Students will read verb cards and act out wordless charades of the verb till their partner guesses the word. No words or sounds allowed.

•Palabras Veloces: using 1 minute sand timers and sight word cards, students will show words to their partner to see how many they can get before the timer runs out. They will place star stickers on the word list for the words they were able to read before the sand ran out. Then switch places.

•Word Families: students will turn plastic eggs to form words that either have common initial syllables or common ending syllables then record the words onto a paper if they can read and understand what word it is.
