Students can survey their classmates on one of the six following categories:
While surveying, students are to fill out their chart with their results of the survey, and then tabulate the data to make a bar graph. This helps students to understand the concept of surveys and to begin to take a personal understanding of making graphs. You might want to make this activity a two-day activity, one for collecting data and one for making the graph (I made this a project that I put out on the bulletin board in the hallway, students in essence published their graphs by making a final draft, including all labels, using colors for their bars, and mounting on construction paper).
This worksheet is in Spanish, but if you would like one in English let me know; I'd be happy to send a translated copy!
