Books and dragons are WAY more fun for most of my students than the usual Valentine's Day mush!
So instead of the traditional Dia de San Valentine / Dia del Amor y Amistad, I've started focusing on the most romantic day of the year in Barcelona: el dia de la rosa y del libro. This lets me introduce much of the same vocabulary, but with a twist.
This resource includes:
- the story of San Jorge in very basic Spanish
(grammar: basic -ar verbs, hay, ser, tener, and tener que)
- comprehension questions
- fill-in-the-blank exercise with -ar verbs using San Jorge vocabulary
- the story of San Jorge using the preterite tense (-ar verbs, ir, ser, hacer, ver, dar)
- comprehension questions and fill-in-the-blank with the correct preterite tense verb
You can also check out the bundle that includes a 12 slide PowerPoint presentation on el Dia de la Rosa y del Libro in Barcelona with a notes guide / worksheet.
BUNDLE San Jorge and Dia de la Rosa y del Libro
I recommend this for Spanish I students, though it can be a good review for everyone.
