In this "Ruleta de Verbos" Activity, students use a pencil tip and a paperclip to spin a subject and a verb. Students then either conjugate and translate or write a sentence depending on your instructions. There are 12 different sets of verbs including a blank verb wheel to add your own verbs based on your current vocabulary list. These can also be completed in any verb tense. Some of the subjects relate to the theme (Ex. Santa y la Sra. Claus, el pavo, el duende, las brujas, etc.) so students can create silly sentences related to the holiday/season theme.
There are 24 total game boards for each set. The first 12 have vosotros and the second set do not.
AR, ER, & IR Verbs
Irregular Yo Verbs
Stem-Changing Verbs O-UE, U-UE
Stem-Changing Verbs E-IE
Stem-Changing Verbs E-I
Stem-Changing Verbs O-UE, U-UE, E-IE, E-I
Blank (you can write in your own set of verbs)
You can also print and copy a response sheet for each student or you can have them record answers on their own paper. There are two versions of the response sheet. The first one has spaces for the subject, verb, conjugation, and translation. The second one has space for the subject, verb, and an original sentence.
Variations: You can make this a partner game by having students compete to see who gets all 5/6 conjugations of one verb first, or who has the most correct conjugations. They can also work as partners to write the sentences if needed for their level.
