Every week my students receive a packet that is called their weekly translation packet. It's not about conjugating verbs or memorizing a list of vocabulary, it's about KNOWING HOW TO TRULY do what the future will ask them to do: translate from one language to another.
Many times it's writing or speaking. My view is that if you can come up with it in written form, you can probably get it out of your mouth as well.
This packet has been my saving grace because it is the KEY to my students retaining ALL THE KNOWLEDGE that I have taught them from day 1.
We are not just learning something then dropping it and moving onto the next concept. The weekly packets requires the students to always take with them what they are learning and just keeping upping their fluency percentage.
The students will learn a "few" new words in their packet, practice their grammar, and there are a ton of different ways you can grade your packets.
Confession: No, I don't CHECK EVERY translation every student does.
This packet is over the present & preterite conjugations & using them within sentences. It uses Present, Preterite, and Preterite Irregulars as well.
The best news is that THIS PACKET can be used with any language because the sentences are in English.
This packet can be customized & edited.
