Have your students ring in the New Year with wishes that use the present subjunctive.
Students are given a list of subjunctive clauses (e.g., Esperar que, Preferir que...)
and a list of possible wishes (mis profesores "ser" amables, mis padres me "dar" un perro).
Students choose 10 different subjunctive clauses and 10 different wishes to create complete sentences
An example sentence may be: "Espero que mis padres me den un perro."
Then, students are given a string of words and a subjunctive or indicative clause. Students decide if the sentence uses the subjunctive or indicative mood and write a complete sentences.
Some indicative clauses are "Estoy seguro que" or "Es obvio que."
