As a dual language immersion teacher, I have spent COUNTLESS hours searching for high-quality Spanish word study resources. After years of searching, I've resigned to just creating a few myself :)
For sale are the materials needed to create a Spanish word wall. It took me a long time to realize that Spanish is not English, and an alphabetical word wall or high-frequency word list might not be what is necessarily best for my students. After additional linguistic study and careful analysis of the types of errors my students (and adults!) make, I've decided to organize these words around common Spanish spelling distinctions. We start the year with these words; and the wall becomes interactive as students add their own words throughout the year.
Included are the category cards and seventeen pages of words. The vast majority of words have a picture; however there are a few I thought were important to include but that do not necessarily lend themselves to clip art ie "bien." The wall is organized by h, c/s/z, c/q, y/ll, g/j, and (last but DEFINITELY not least!) b/v words. Some words begin with the letter and some contain it within (for example, "Vaca" and "Avion" would both go in the V column.
I hope you find this resource valuable! Please let me know what you think, and what other types of word study resources you'd like to see. Thank you!
