There are 2 documents supporting the implementation of "diarios" in one's Spanish classes. The teacher will model via PPT a sample 4-5 sentence paragraph on a pertinent topic. Students then formulate potential questions that could have been presented to incite such a diary entry. The teacher then presents via PPT the featured question and his/her sample diary entry to help the students develop their own writing ideas. This activity is done over the course of 6 weeks. Students then receive a formative grade on completion (see journal file) and a summative grade based on the rubric (p.3 of the journal document). Students circle which entry (great self-reflection) they want graded as their summative.
