This document contains Spanish food activities that correspond with the song: "Jugo de Naranja" by Patti Lozano. I teach my students this song and show them the video on Youtube. We then have a small booklet that students write the names for foods in (in a separate listing) and we do a combination of the activities in this document. I also film them singing to the song and holding up the props for all of the foods as they sing along.
The food vocabulary included in this document is:
*Jugo de naranja
*El cereal con frutas
*El pan tostado
The first activity is a matching activity where students can draw a line from the Spanish word to the corresponding food.
The second slide allows students to move the Spanish word for a certain food to the correct location on a food pyramid.
For the activity on the third slide, you pass out paper plates to students and have them use markers to draw a picture of the foods listed on the SMART board.
On slides 4-24, there is a scene with a dog in a kitchen. He 'eats' something from the fridge. Students have to guess, in Spanish, what the dog has eaten! (The fridge closes each time-this is similar to a "what's missing" game).
On slides 25-33, I set up a mini 'supermercado' with a little cart and reusable bag that I have in my classroom. I show the 'grocery list' of four foods that I want from the supermarket and students put these in the cart/bag and run these up to me as fast as they can-it is a timed game to see which group can shop fastest! (Only one group shops at a time-I do groups of two students)
These are very fun activities to review common foods in Spanish!! :)
