Spanish listening practice - Introduction - audio file and worksheet

This is an audio file and worksheet I used with my 1st year Spanish students.

Students listen to the audio and then complete the worksheet included. The audio is presented by a male native speaker.

Students are asked to identify basic information about the speaker, such as:
- The greeting he uses
- His name
- His age
- Where he comes from
- His nationality
- Where he lives
- Which language/s he speaks
- His birthday
- Family members he mentions
- His phone number

The transcript of the text is:
Buenos días. Mi nombre es Javier. Tengo cincuenta y dos años. Soy de Argentina. Soy argentino. Vivo en Buenos Aires. Hablo español y portugués. Mi cumpleaños es el cinco de junio. Tengo un primo y dos hermanas. Mi número de teléfono es el tres, siete, ocho, siete, cuatro, cinco, nueve, dos, cero, uno.

An English answer guide is included.

Alternatively, this audio file could also be used as a translation activity, without the worksheet as a guide.
