This activity allows students to replicate the experience of taking the U.S. citizenship test in a foreign, non-native language. I designed it for use with Realidades 3, Chapter 5, in which students learn about citizenship and the community, but it could be used with any Spanish textbook/curriculum that delves into these topics!
The worksheet features 23 questions patterned after the actual U.S. citizenship test. I tried to word them in such a way that the students would be able to understand, even without having learned all of this vocabulary. I used cognates wherever possible and gave them a few footnotes at the bottom.
This is also a great cross-curricular link to U.S. history and government classes, as the answers are basic facts that they SHOULD know (in theory). :)
