My fourth graders had a blast creating these monster booklets to practice Spanish vocabulary for body parts, colors, and shapes. Each student will imagine a "scary" monster and write a description in Spanish. Next, each student will read his/her description out loud. Classmates will draw the monster based on the description they hear.
Students had a great time drawing each other's monsters and holding up the pages at the end of each description to compare their drawings-- it's fun to see different interpretations of the same monster!
At the end of the activity, students will have a fun keepsake booklet with a monster representing each classmate.
Materials needed: Every student will need a booklet (large or small) with enough room on each page for a drawing. Each booklet should contain the same number of pages as students in the classroom. Staple the corners or do a single-hole punch and tie with yarn.
