This worksheet can be used with any novel in Spanish class. And actually, if you want to use it for another language class, just change Spanish to French, etc. throughout the doc. It's a Word doc, so you are free to edit and make changes.
The worksheet has students do the following:
-Write a summary of the past chapter(s) they read
-Look for new vocabulary and draw pictures of the words
-Create a character/event concept map for the events in the chapter
-Create a 4-box comic strip showing the main events
**See sample high quality student work in the preview pictures.
I have used this for students when reading Pobre Ana and Patricia va a California. We read one chapter each Wednesday and do the worksheet. They get familiar with it, but it was still OK to do for every chapter. It has been a good way for students to document their understanding of the chapter, yet learn some vocabulary and try to use the new words along the way. In conjunction with this, I also use some multiple choice questions, which you can purchase from my store.
