This activity is perfect for 1st year Spanish students learning restaurant vocabulary and stem-changing verbs. I use this activity after introducing students to real Spanish restaurant menus and to cultural topics like tapas and "menú del día". Each student can create their own menu, giving their restaurant a name and listing a total of 16 different foods/drinks with prices. After students complete their menus, they have to write answers to seven questions about their restaurant and menu. Then students can share their menus and ask and answer the questions with partners. Later on, these menus can be used for restaurant scenarios in which students have to act out a restaurant scene.
