A collection of photos, phrases and Valentine's Day vocabulary! The first four slides contain images found on line of Spanish phrases and Valentine's Day sayings. Have students work together to translate the phrases and pictures. Assigning the pictures to students or small groups allows for a great differentiation activity to challenge those students who already know the vocabulary.
Slides 5-8 on the PowerPoint has English and Spanish translations to popular vocabulary and Valentine phrases. Underneath the red hearts, are blue hearts with the English translations. Have students come up with the Spanish. Includes popular and common phrases used by Spanish speakers while texting (tq , jaja, bss, tqm)
Before giving them the Spanish translation to the Give students a vocabulary sheet with the Spanish vocabulary (See document SpanishValentine_ValentinesDay in store) and have students write the English translation or draw a picture to as many words as they already know and/or let students work in groups to look up the rest of the words. Always fun to make this into a timed competition!
Why not end class by having your students make "Cartas de Amor" or playing "Honey if you love me, please smile" (see slide 10)
