The CodeFWD program is a bundle of 3 free lesson plans for teachers who want to inspire interest in computer programming through videos, discussions, hands-on activities, and quizzes. The download is a 13-page pdf file which provides detailed information on WHAT is included in the CodeFWD program, HOW to access it, and TIPS for incorporating CodeFWD into your classroom. No previous computer programming experience is needed. Video, quizzes and hands-on coding activities are accessed online after creation of a free CodeFWD account.
Who it's good for: Credentialed teachers or non-profit educators who work with 4th through 8th graders in the United States. No prior computer programming experience necessary!
Time needed: About 2 hours total, which can be broken up into 3 different sessions
Supplies needed: Access to the Internet, computers or tablets for students (recommend 2 students per computer / tablet), projector and sound device
