Pumpkins are one of the symbols of the fall season. Pumpkins are fun to study, paint, carve, and even eat. The pumpkin writing and poetry lessons in this product correlate with the common core standards.
This easy pumpkin art project sparkles; just add a little glitter. There are two pumpkin patterns. One for painting and creating an art project to hang up in the room and the other one is the art cover of the student pumpkin writing book.
The student writing book is in the shape of a pumpkin. There are 3 writing prompts and one drawing page in the book, a total of 4 pages. There are two types of writing line pages. These writing prompts can be completed during centers, small groups, or with whole class instruction.
There are directions on how to save the pumpkin seeds from a pumpkin and then plant the seeds in the spring. There is a special envelope page to copy, cut out and glue together. Then store the seeds in envelope until the springtime.
There is an original pumpkin poem written by me to use during centers. Practice reading the poem together as a class. Place the poem at a center along with complete the missing words from the poem and answering comprehension questions. Then the students can draw and color their own face on the pumpkin.
Additional pumpkin writing and drawing pages are provided. You may use them for other class projects.
There is also a color, cut, and paste Life Cycle of a Pumpkin.
