The following quiz is a 25-question multiple choice quiz on Jessica Sharzer's 2004 teen drama "Speak" that is a film adaptation of Laurie Halse Anderson's novel of the same name and stars Kristen Stewart that can be used in an English, film studies, or media studies class. This assessment is not a trivia quiz about the story or production anecdotes; it is also not a simple, low-level comprehension quiz based on events in the film. The quiz contains high level, critical thinking questions on the understanding through evaluation levels of Bloom's revised taxonomy model. The quiz assesses a taker's understanding of the film's camera movement, characterization, cinematography, color symbolism, conflict, costume design, editing, figurative devices, foils, foreshadowing, genre, inferences, irony, mise en scene, plot, setting/set design, story, subtext, symbolism, and themes. A bonus/extra credit additional 26th question is provided for teachers to use at their discretion.
A packet on the film that can be used as a formative assessment to prepare students for this summative assessment is available as a separate purchase by clicking here
