Many students speak so quickly that it is hard to accurately determine speech sounds and word choice. This can cause students to feel frustration and have an unwillingness to talk. With this visual, students can easily see that words are like a jumbled pile of blocks if there aren't pauses/breaks. I've used this visual to target several IEP goals, including: fluency, articulation, prosody, and social communication.
