This is an activity for level 1 Spanish, but could be used as review or a warm up in level 2. I love, love, love this and have used is for 12 years because it uses 4 of 5 modes of communication but isn't overly burdensome to the students, and it's fun! They will write down the names of several classmates, then they have to guess sí or no to the question. For example: Are you afraid of spiders? Once they have guessed all of the answers for all of the classmates, they then go and see if they were right! Using their interpersonal communication skills, they then will ask their partners. The partners then answer. After checking all the answers, students return to their desks and then, using their presentational writing skills, will answer several personal questions, stretching their learning with guessing meaning from context on one or two of the questions. You can extend this and then debrief with the last using volunteers or random call.
The tener expressions included are (but you can change these easily!):
tener ganas (de)
I hope you have as much fun with this as I have over the years.
