These speaking and listening participation/focus tools were created for students in my class who:
-have difficulty attending to group discussions
-are anxious about participating
-need time to prepare their ideas before sharing in a group
If you have students with similar needs in your class, then you should check out this resource.
These products were created specifically for students who need support to focus or participate during class activities and discussions. In the past, I have found that students with a range of needs often benefit from these various tools.
These supports can be used during whole class conversations, small group conversations, meeting time on the rug, etc. There are some pages that require students to simply tally when each of their peers has a turn to speak as well as more advanced participation that guides students in preparing a response to share during discussions. Each of these tools have been created so students can have access to and focus on our class discussions.
Not only do students benefit from these tools, but it also provides YOU with information regarding how often all students are participating or using content specific vocabulary.
