This is a poster that is intended to post/review clear criteria for proficient student listening and speaking behaviors during lessons.
Referencing the poster, students are easily able to reflect on their own behaviors after a lesson, evaluating their speaking/listening as:
*I CAN DO BETTER
*I DIDN"T TRY
As an ESL teacher, I have found it useful to introduce in the beginning of the year in both push-in and pull-out teaching situations. I hang it up for display and periodically refer to it throughout the year. Classroom teachers, as well as my school's Speech & Language specialists have found it especially helpful.
To put it together, print the pages out on 8 1/2 x 14 paper. Line them up, and glue on oak tag.
* This is good for Part D (Criteria Section) of the Marshall Rubric.
