Description
I've taken the basic scope and sequence of a very popular 3rd-grade math curriculum, along with the 3rd-grade common core standards, and created a 134-slide program that teaches the most ESSENTIAL MATH CONCEPTS for this grade (in logical order). I teach a self-contained program for students with special needs and this is how I support my students in accessing the general education curriculum. It is PROJECT-BASED and includes MULTIPLE DAYS of hands-on and technology-based projects to complete with your students. I've even embedded some bonus slideshows within the program for your use, as well. I use this to teach a 30-minute group daily, and did not need to supplement this program AT ALL until LATE MARCH!! This will be ALL YOU NEED to teach standards-aligned, modified math to your special education classroom! (Can use for multiple grades- it is aligned to 4th and 5th standards as these skills are the precursors to more difficult skills in higher grades).
Topics:
Addition and Repeated Addition
Repeated Addition as Multiplication
Arrays
Skip counting by 2s, 5s and 10s
Multiplication using 100s grids and number lines
Subtraction and Repeated Subtraction
Repeated Subtraction as Division
Patterns (shapes, numbers, objects)
Fact Families (Addition and Subtraction)
