This foldable introduces special cases/identifying the number of solutions to an equation. Students will solve each problem and identify if the solution is always, sometimes, or never true. They will then translate that into having one solution, no solution, or infinitely many solutions.
Additionally, students will learn how to use a calculator to solve an equation with variables on both sides by putting the left side of the equation into the calculator as y1 and the right side of the equation into the calculator as y2. This introduces students to systems of equations long before they are ready to solve them. I have taught equations this way in the past and it makes the systems of equations unit much easier!
This is great for Interactive Notebooks, Math Journals, or reteaching.
