**WHO AND WHAT IS THIS PRODUCT FOR?**
Special Education Teachers look no further. Clicking on Special Education Basic Skills Math Assessments- you have found a tool that can help organize your life as a special education teacher, intervention specialist, resource teacher or regular education teacher looking for a quick and easy way to monitor interventions and RTI.
These informal math assessments are great for IEP (Individual Education Plan) or RTI (Response to Intervention) progress monitoring. Student assessment pages and data tracking sheets are included.
As a special education teacher, quick and easy printable math assessments are very important. If I am not assessing new students, I am progress monitoring current ones.
These basic math skills assessments are meant to track data and show students their success. I put my math assessment trackers in a binder and have it handy for all meetings. This Math Assessment is also great for RTI and any interventions that students need.
**WHAT IF I ALREADY BOUGHT THE ORIGINAL MATH ASSESSMENT**
This assessment started as a little over 150 pages and was a growing product. Now it includes close to 400 pages. If you bought the original math assessment from me, it is still included in the compressed file. Just go to ‘my purchases’ and re-download for free to access all of the new math documents added.
**IDEAS FOR SET UP**
I put my Math assessment student pages in plastic sheets and have students complete the activities with dry-erase markers. It is an absolute time saver. For times when I need work samples, I snap a photo with my camera and send it to a file in my email to have it handy for all meetings.
If you are like me, you probably have students who have not yet mastered their basic math skills and need some intervention and monitoring. Where will you begin?
First you will need an organized resource to assess their needs and monitor their progress. I looked everywhere for this tool and could not find one that met my requirements. So what else does a teacher do, but create it.
This product focuses on basic number sense and operations. It focuses on skills that students need to be successful within the classroom and also successful in life.
**DOES THIS FOCUS ON COMMON CORE STANDARDS?**
The answer to that is Yes and no…
What this tool does NOT have is each and every common core standard. Or even skills listed by grade. This is because when I am assessing my students with needs, sometimes they are not anywhere close to their grade level standard and I need to fill in that gap and work towards grade level.
Instead this resource tool has a couple of components that make it unique. I narrowed in on what I believe to be the most important skills that carry through to the next level. Each of these skills has a goal attached to it as well as data monitoring sheets. Each skill assessment comes in 4 different pages for multiple progress monitoring opportunities.
**WHAT MATH SKILLS ARE ADRESSED?**
Some of the skills that are addressed in this product are: COUNTING, NAMING NUMBERS, WRITING NUMBERS, READING NUMBER WORDS, COMPUTATION, TELLING TIME, IDENTIFYING AND CALCULATING MONEY.
