This is a communication log that can be used to increase communication and collaboration between home and school. There are spaces for teachers to tell parents about a student's day as well as spaces for parents to comment back or tell teachers about what happened at home the night before or that morning. This sheet is intended to be sent home with students every day. This communication log is different from the other one I created, because this one includes picture communication symbols (Boardmaker symbols). This is especially helpful for parents of students who use these types of visuals to communicate so that they can become familiar with their child's mode of communication. You could even differentiate which communication log goes home with each student based on the way each child communicates. You would most likely send this home with students who are nonverbal and students with minimal functional communication.
I would suggest making a lot of copies at the beginning of the year and making a binder to keep in each student's backpack. I have included a color version as well as a black and white version.
