I Feel Map with just pictures
10 Emotions pages (Emotions include: tired, mad, happy, silly, nervous, overwhelmed, sad, anxious, scared and sick)

I use this visual aid in my Middle School Autistic Support Classroom to help my students identify their feelings, help them understand why they feel that way, and help them choose appropriate calming strategies. You can print the slides, laminate them, and use a hole punch and binder ring to keep the pages together.

You are able to edit the toolkit to meet the needs of your students. I use this specific toolkit with all of my students, verbal and nonverbal, because it has words and pictures. Page 3 of the visual has two versions. Feel free to edit, delete or add words and pictures to meet the needs of your students. Just make sure you adjust the page numbers accordingly.

I keep the toolkit in my classroom’s Cool Down Corner and have students use it when they are taking a break. See my TpT item Special Education Cool Down Corner Behavior Management (https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Special-Education-Cool-Down-Corner-Behavior-Management-2153366) to purchase how to set up your own Cool Down Corner.

At the beginning of the year, I model how to use the toolkit and continue to prompt students throughout the year.

The toolkit has made such a difference in my room and has helped my students manage their emotions. It is so cool to watch students learn how to calm themselves and self soothe without constant adult prompting. Students become more confident with themselves and overall more independent.

Please provide feedback on the purchase to earn credits to use on TpT.
