How to Play
Alphabet Match Game
One player takes a turn drawing a card from the table. ( I usually have my table captain choose first. If they have an alphabet card match, they set it aside or put it under their plate and take another turn. If someone else has the match they win the match, set it aside or put it under their plate. The person that makes the match is then the next person to draw a card. The first player to get rid of all cards on their plate is the first winner.
Alphabet Recognition Game
Lay all cards face down on a table.
The captain of the table starts the play by drawing a card. If the kiddo recognizes the card he/she may keep it and draw again. The kiddo’s turn ends if he/she does not recognize the card or draws a “acorn” card. Keep the acorn card and the next play, rotates to the next person.
This product help students strengthen their knowledge of the upper and lowercase letters of the alphabet.
A difference in my teaching is the games we play similar to this. My kiddos were learning their sounds, letters, words, and money in an exciting game situation. The kids loved it. The anticipation was high and they were playing while learning! They even asked to play the games during free play.
