Description

Informal math assessment for special education: Grades K-8 FREEBIE. Great for Resource/Special Education Teachers! This PRE-Assessment will help gather a quick estimate of the average math grade level and abilities of your student. (See the included directions below, for how to use the assessment). Inside this packet you will find a K-8th Math PRE-Assessment aligned with Common Core Standards. Also included an ANSWER KEY and a teacher data recording/progress monitoring/tracking sheet.

This PRE-Assessment is most EFFECTIVE and GREAT for: Teachers/Resource Specialists/Special Education Teachers to use for progress monitoring, baseline data, IEP information, or for incoming students that need to be placed in appropriate grade level math curriculum.

Each math question on the assessment is related directly to Common Core Standards for accuracy and consistency.

What can you assess with this?

=Comprehension of Math Standards

=Average Math grade level

=Math Fluency

=Math Accuracy

Directions:

Print the PRE-Assessment and give to your student. (Allow your student scratch paper if needed). (NOTE: This is not a timed test but you may want to document when your student started and completed the assessment for data purposes.)

When your student completes as much as they can on this assessment, compare their correct answers with the corresponding grade level using the following:

-Questions #1-2 = Kindergarten

-Questions #3-4 = First Grade

-Questions #5-6 = Second Grade

-Questions #7-9 = Third Grade

-Questions #10-12 = Fourth Grade

-Questions #13-15 = Fifth Grade

-Questions #16-18 = Sixth Grade

-Questions #19-21 = Seventh Grade

-Questions #22-24 = Eighth Grade

Use the data sheet provided as documentation for IEPs, progress monitoring, baseline data, etc.

Use the data provided to help estimate where the student is academically in the area of Math and determine which grade level of assessments to use with your student from the FULL VERSION of this assessment.
