My state (Connecticut) recently passed a law that students can be identified as having dyslexia on the IEP. My colleagues and I struggled to find a resource to present to parents that would give pertinent information but not overwhelm. So, I have created a resource for special education teachers to give to parents.
This handout provides a definition of dyslexia, a list of common characteristics, a list of tips for parents, and a list of websites and texts parents can turn to for additional information.
Please leave a comment if you have ideas for how this product can be changed to be more useful! I hope you can use this handout to improve your communication with students' parents for years to come!
