Feeling overwhelmed by the number of PPTs to schedule, IEPs to create, or evaluations to complete? Me too!
After feeling like I was floundering for the first 1.5 years of my career, I created checklists to help keep myself organized. These checklists help you keep track of several integral parts of the special educator's role.
IEP Timeline Checklist: record the date of PPT, date IEP was sent to be finalized, date IEP was finalized, and date it was printed for the confidential and family.
PPT Timeline Checklist: keep track of when PPTs are due, when you contact the family, and when the PPT invitations are sent home.
Evaluation Timeline Checklist: record when consent was given, what evaluations need to be administered, and when the evaluations are due. Space is given for both the 45 school day and 60 calendar day timelines depending on what your district/state uses.
I hope these checklists help you stay more organized! Never lose sight of the great work you do! Please leave feedback if there are any changes you suggest.
