Objective: To recognize the special ratios for long leg, short leg, equal length leg and hypotenuse as they relate to and triangles. Students will divide up cards and use flash cards to drill the lengths of sides of special right triangles. When a card has two question marks, students should answer by identifying the appropriate name of the side, i.e. short leg is… long leg is… , etc, then the ratio value.
Connections: This activity is useful for students in preparation for learning unit circle trigonometry.
