Special Right Triangles

This geometry lesson covers special right triangles. The lesson begins with simplifying radicals, rationalizing denominators and performing operations with radicals. Next, there is a page of notes covering the special right triangle rules that the students can put into their interactive notebooks. The lesson continues with practicing the rules using a chart then finding missing sides on actual triangles. To wrap up the lesson, there is practice on a composite figure and finally there is a quick 3 question quiz with two versions.

This lesson took me two days on a block schedule. My students really enjoyed the composite figure and even asked me to make another one so they can practice. I did make them a second one. It is a freebie in my store: Special Right Triangle Freebie
