This is a mindfulness activity that could be used with a social skills group or with any classroom. There are calming words that can be looked at on a full sheet of paper or cut out. If cut out, students can pick a words they want to feel for the day and place it in front of them to look at. There is also a blank sheet, so teachers or students can write their own words.

check-in and notice sensory experiences around them like sound and smell
take deep breaths as they point to calming circles
Students can do this independently, 1:1 with a staff member or taking turns in a group. The materials can be laminated for repeated use or printed each time they are used.
