This chart is designed to establish and build independence for the students. The shells could be changed into any other classroom theme. Just so happens that the general education teacher I worked with had a behavior plan/ system that was beach them :-) I have also modified this chart to be a cupcake theme as one of my other students loved cupcakes. If the student completes a task (i.e independent reading) with less than 3 prompts then the student gets to color the shell green. After 3 or 4 green earned shells then the student gets a break or reward. The rewards for this chart are gonoodle break, computer game, or tumblebooks. This sheet goes home with the student as a way of communication on how his behavior/ independence / task completion went for the day. This specific student has Autism so a velcor chart was also in place for them. The velco chart simply consisted of 3 shells on a 4 by 4 card stock that's laminated. The card was split into two colors, green and red. If all shells got switched to the red then the shell on their paper would be read.
Please feel free to ask any question, I think the chart is pretty self explanatory but ask away :-)
