I created this set to use with Pre-k, kindergarten and first grade students, depending on their ability levels (I work with a lot of children who had and continue to have global delays in development. This will enable the therapist to use the same book and (hopefully) address all or almost all the needs of their pre-k, kindergarten and first grade students.
The first two pages focus on the phonological processes of final consonant deletion and cluster simplification (/s/ blends). These activities offer multiple repetitions at the word and simple sentence level.
PARTS OF SPEECH:
The next 2 activities focus on adjectives and verbs used in the story. For the adjective activity the students cut/paste noun pictures from the story to the adjectives used to describe them. For the verb activity, students categorize the animals into push/pull.
The next 2 activities are laid out the same. One focuses on “what” questions and the other focuses on “where” questions from the story.
The next 3 activities focus no “under”, “in front” and “behind”. They all require cut/paste. These activities offer constant repetition of the concept with in a carrier sentence to help with acquisition
