Looking for something to get you through that last stretch before summer? Look no further! Take your students on a "field trip" to speech camp! This pack contains activities to work on many areas of language and articulation, making it perfect for mixed groups!
This pack includes:
Pages 1-3: Category Camp out-Get the campers back to their tents by sorting the items into the correct categories. Then, fill up the tents with the correct items by writing or drawing items that fit into each category.
Pages 4-7: Smore’s Sentence Building-Cut out all marshmallows and marshmallow sticks. Each player should take turns choosing a marshmallow, and deciding which stick to place it on. Whoever completes the stick of marshmallows gets to keep it. When all marshmallows have been placed, the player with the most sticks is the winner!
Pages 8-11: Marshmallow Shades of Meaning-Cut out all marshmallows and marshmallow sticks. Each player should take turns choosing a marshmallow, and deciding which stick to place it on. Whoever completes the stick of marshmallows gets to keep it. When all marshmallows have been placed, the player with the most sticks is the winner!
Page 12: Playing with Pronouns-Use the provided scene to answer the questions. Encourage students to use the correct pronouns when answering the questions.
Page 13-17: Load up by Listening-Print one backpack mat for each student. Students should draw a card, and listen to the short story. If they can answer the question correctly, they may keep the card. The first person to load his or her backpack completely is the winner!
Page 18-23: Irregular Verbs-Students should take turns pulling a hot dog from the fire, and naming the irregular past tense form. If they’re correct, they get to keep it!
Page 24-27: Let’s make “s’more” conversation-Give each student a marshmallow stick, and sort all comment/question marshmallows into two piles. As students contribute to the conversation with comments or questions, they can take the appropriate marshmallow. If a student makes an inappropriate comment or topic change, they get a burned marshmallow card, and lose one or all of their marshmallows.
Page 28-37: S’more Sound Practice-Cut out all marshmallows for the target sound. Say each word 5 times. If the student gets all 5 correct, glue it on the “I got it!” stick. If not, glue it on the “I need practice” stick. Send home for practice.
