Learn about the parts of the body critical for communication. A print or Google Slides version of this resource include a mini book, build with speech helpers, and two posters. This mini book and poster set is the perfect way to start speech therapy at the beginning of the year or with a new client.
This packet includes 16 pages. There are 12 half-sheet pages of a mini book. This booklet explains the different speech helpers in our body. They include brain, lungs, diaphragm, voice box/larynx, tongue, mouth, lips, ears. The text is explained in kid-friendly terminology. To make it work with each student, you can have further conversations about form and function or even simplify it.
Also included are two posters in color and black and white to be posted in your office or classroom. I sent home the black and white version as a coloring page for homework.
Also included is also a blank body. Cut out the parts and add velcro. Your students can add the body parts to the correct spots on the person. On the Google Slides version, students can drag the parts of the speech machine to the body. The interactive body comes in two skin tones.
This is also a great way to focus on speech during a preschool 'All About Me' unit for speech therapy. It's been ideal for articulation and fluency students.
