Speech News Bits activity packet is full on non fiction articles targeting speech sounds, vocabulary and comprehension. Included are two versions of the same newsletter: one version is geared to a specific speech sound (included are /l/, /r/, /s/, /th/, /sh/, /ch/) with a Clipboard on the right hand side to find words with their sound. The same newsletter is then geared towards vocabulary targeting nouns and/or verbs. On the flip side of each newsletter are comprehension questions for the 3 articles in each newsletter and key vocabulary to discuss and/or define.
Older elementary students and middle school students who continue to work on speech sounds will benefit from these newsletters for gaining information all while carrying over their sound. For example, the three articles for the /r/ newsletter include WrestleMania, recycling and auto racing with key vocabulary as reduce, recycle, recommend, and recreation.
These "Speech News Bits" are perfect for articulation groups, mixed language and articulation groups, push in therapy for both articulation and language and so much more. These newsletters have also been great conversation starters for both carryover of sounds comprehension and expressing ideas and responses clearly.
