BUY THE BUNDLE and get all SEVEN recipes!
Teaching kids functional skills is something that is a passion of mine. And I love co-treating with occupational therapy too. When you're working with preschool students, students in self-contained settings, students in life skill classrooms and students with autism -- this hands-on recipe curriculum is exactly what these students need to learn and practice the skills they need in life -- activities of daily living.
When I co-treated with the occupational therapist every week, I could never find exactly what I needed for those sessions and so we winged it. I've finally created the perfect no prep resource that you can print off now (and after a quick run to the grocery store for supplies) and use right away with students this week!

Students will learn how to sequence a recipe visually by using black and white or color cards and they can take home the recipe sheets to share with mom and dad. Or have them color and prepare a double-sided 12 half-sheet mini-book with all of the steps required to make cookies. To extend the lesson, ask students to compare and contrast ingredients by using the sheets provided, answer WH-questions about the recipe with pictures for correct pronoun usage or the WH-question task cards without pictures. With the cards that the students have already colored, they can sequence and retell the entire experience of making a special recipe.
