I made this product for students who demonstrate gliding ("w" for "r"). This activity allows you to see if your student can hear the difference between "w" and "r" sounds.
Print (and laminate) all pages. Cut out the minimal pairs cards. Read out the minimal pairs (e.g. "wing" vs "ring"). Have the student use the visual to identify which sound he or she heard. Alternatively, cut out pictures and laminate so that student can place picture cards into "w" and "r" piles.
- 14 minimal pairs cards
- Visual for /w/ (i.e. the wind blowing sound) vs /r/ (i.e. the pirate 'arr' sound)
