Bring simple science to your speech sessions! I created this resource to be a companion to making a storm in a cup. This is great for whole group lessons or to use as a celebration activity (I do activities like this once per 6 weeks).

  • Cut out and laminate the describe/define visuals to sue during the activities.

To use: Complete the experiment (please supervise students closely), use at your own discretion. Use the visual recipes and sequencing boards appropriate to your students’ needs. Please follow all safety precautions in your setting. Choose which worksheets you want the students to complete (you can easily use this packet over several sessions leading up to or after your do the experiment). I have a home note that I send after the experiment that encourages recall and describing skills (students will also draw a picture of their storm on the note).

I complete this unit over 2 therapy sessions. The first session I will introduce the experiment and we will complete some of the themed speech and language worksheets. We complete the experiment the 2nd session and fill out the follow up worksheets to continue the learning process. There are enough worksheets included that you could use this pack across several sessions.
