There are three flip pages across.
This is a very visual approach to learning. The format of the flip book sentence is:
I SEE/COMMUNITY HELPER/LOCATION (I see, a doctor, at the hospital).
Number of community helpers: 18
Number of locations: 12
This activity targets many learning areas: vocabulary, categories, sentence building, expressive language,
in a fun, bright way.

The INSTRUCTIONS to assemble the product is in a separate PDF file, included in the bundle. Please
refer to the 3-page flip book instructions for either the BOOK RING style or COMB BINDING style.
NOTE: There are blank (“Trash”) pages to discard, which seems wasteful, but this is to keep the pages
aligned, if you do the comb binding method. (Note: book ring option is easier).
After assembling the flipbook, introduce the book to the student.
First, introduce animals, one by one, and help him/her name them,
as you flip through the pages.
Then, introduce the locations, as you flip through the pages.
Next, help the student match the animal to the location that it lives.
Finally, put the sentence together, modeling in the beginning, as in
“I see a shark in the ocean.”
As, the student becomes familiar with this activity, use less cueing.
