DOT THE SPOT! MATS, focusing on categorization and sorting.
Yes, and this is a GROWING BUNDLE! As I get more ideas and time, AND input from buyers, I
will eagerly make more. What’s more, this includes a NO-PREP version of all the activity pages.
This is a nice hands-on, fun activity for the kiddos, as they will be required to use a dauber, play
dough, markers, crayons, etc. to mark the mats. The child be asked to mark the elements on the
mat with the appropriate color for the category. For example, on the ANIMAL GROUP page, he/she
will dot the farm animals “yellow”, the ocean animals “blue”, and the zoo animals “green.”
Included in this packet are mats for:
Animal Groups (farm, zoo, ocean) – color version
Holiday Sort (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentine’s Day, Halloween) – color version
Hot or. Cold – color version
Big or Little – color version
Fruit or Vegetable - color version
Food or Drink – color version
Bathroom or Kitchen – color version
Also, ALL of the ABOVE in black & white version. (For NO-PREP) --- just print and go.

HOW TO USE:
Types of tools to use for marking mats:
dauber/dotter (for color laminated mat or b&w mats),
play-dough (for color laminated mat),
erasable marker (for color laminated mat or b&w mat),
crayon or color pencil (for b&w mat),
water-color paints (for color laminated mat or b&w mat).
For black and white mat, have the child color in the small dotted squares with the appropriate colors at the color key area.
Present a mat to the child. Explain to the child that he/she will be marking the mat with the appropriate color as specified
on the color key. I would point out each element on the page and talk about how to categorize them.
Support: Use the appropriate amount of support. You may need to model it first, or do the activity together, step by step.
NOTE: TRY NOT TO PRINT THE PACKET COVER PAGE BECAUSE THIS WILL JUST WASTE YOUR INK. ;)
