To practice the meaning of different feelings and
the situations that trigger those feelings. Feelings to be practiced
are happy, sad, angry/frustrated , sick, embarrassed, and scared.
use this activity with students with special needs, mostly those with autism. Note that the situations for angry and frustrated can be used interchangeably, depending on the student’s own
Included in this packet are:
7 graphic organizers (Circle Maps) with
a different feeling on each.
6 pages with different situations that reflect those feelings. The
student is to sort those situations onto the circle maps..
For example, “It’s my birthday” goes on the “Happy” circle map.
You will need paper, laminate and Velcro to prepare this activity.
